Baltic Plate 2008, Ohjelma

Dear midnight rugby entrants,

Here are some answers to your questions:

The address of the Hotel's tournament for those having rooms there:
Eerikinkatu 24.
Elisa will send you shortly all the details about the rooms.

  - Friday 27th June at 16:30 at Myllypuro Sports Park pitch 1.
Signs will show you the way from the metro station (Myllypuro) to the pitch.
Between 16:45 and 17:00 there will be a captains and referees briefing. Please be on time!
On site there will be food for sell. Hot sausages, potatoes and salmon bake and veggie lasagne, buns, coffee, soft drinks.

  - From 21:00 until 22:30 buses will take you to the party place for the 3rd half.
The schedule for buses will be available close to the administration tent.
The 3rd half will take place in Uunisaari. A small island in the south of Helsinki.
You can leave your smelly rugby bags at the cloakroom. Keep your towel with you for the sauna.
When you reach the island, grab a beer and try to go to the sauna straightaway. If you wait too much you won't have too much space when everybody will be there.
Some have already paid their tickets for the 3rd half. For those who didn't please send me a mail and we will sort this out before the tournament. The price is 15 euros and it includes the transfer by bus from the pitch to the Island, the boat trip and the buffet. The island has 3 saunas, 2 bars and a beach.
You can easily walk back to the town center after the party. It's faster than waiting for a taxi.

- Saturday 28th June at 11:00 at Myllypuro Sports Park pitch 1
Finals will be played until 17:00. A women rugby game will be played at 14:00 on the main pitch.

There will be food for sell. Salmon salad, potatoes salad, hot sausages and herrings, coffee, buns and soft drinks.
Between 17:00 and 17:30 Buses will take everybody from the pitches to the towncenter. The players staying at the hotel can go there to change and then meet again at Kaivohuone for the prize ceremony.
Kaivohuone is a disco in a park called Kaivopuisto. Be careful, it can be a bit high level so try to wear some nice shoes.
You can go there by walk, tram or taxi.
The prize ceremoney will take place at 19:30 at Kaivohuone.
See the map attached for the way by tram from the hotel to the disco.

For public transport you can buy a 3 days ticket (12 euros) or a 5 days tickets (18 euros). You can buy those tickets in R-Kioski (yellow signs) or in automatic ticket machines.

About the games:
If you have some other referees, they are welcome to join the team of referees. Let me remind you that each team bringing a ref will get a discount of 50 euros off of the registration fees. Also the ref will be fed for free for the 2 days, they will come for free at the parties and will go back home with a nice shirt provided by one of our sponsor.

The tournament will be played with the new rules. Indeed we already started our season with the new rules up here. Some explaination can be found here :

For tour organisers, if you can, please try to take some milestones pictures: step in the plane, boat, bus, arriving in Helsinki, in the metro. Videos are welcome also. Once this is done, we would be happy if you could share that so we can build a nice little video.
